Profollica

There is much information on Profollica online. Unfortunately much is misinformation.  As a man with a receding hair line, I have always been concerned about thinning hair and I wanted a REAL review on Profollica once I heard about the product . . . the real truth not just a catchy sales pitch from someone trying to sell me the product, of which 97% of all reviews will suggest. Yet are they right?

The forums claim both success and failure with Profollica.

The question is where can you get an unbiased review?

Look no further. This is a 100% honest, ethical and real review and I will only report the truth. I know how hard it can be to get a truthful review. Here it is so you can decide if the product is for you.

Profollica Review:

In order to fully understand the product we need to explore a few things so that you can take every step into consideration:

  • What is the product in a nutshell?
  • What are the product claims?
  • What it is and how it works?
  • What are the ingredients?
  • What is the cost?
  • What are the side effects?
  • What are the results?

What Is The Product In A Nutshell?

Profollica is a two stage (two products) combined into one daily regimen. The system uses natural ingredients to reduce and then block DHT from your body.

You take a daily supplement and later, apply a gel to your scalp during your shower. The two combine to nourish and encourage hair growth and to block DHT.

The two stage process attacks DHT in your body and supports hair growth. A majority of people who use the product have reported that they like the two stage process and that the product is made of essentially natural ingredients. We will discuss ingredients in a moment.

What Are The Product Claims?

Profollica claims that the use of their product will help to slow hair loss by lowering the amount of DHT in your body which inhibits hair growth.

First is this a reasonable claim and second does the reduction in DHT help with regaining your hair?

The company says by use of their product you will slow and begin to reverse hair growth. Is this claim true?

Here is what DHT is:

“Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, is a natural but powerful metabolite of the human body and the main cause of hair loss in both men and women. It’s a chemical derivative of testosterone, created when the metabolism of androgen gets involved with an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase.”

So we can see that their first claim seems to be true. A reduction of DHT does increase hair gain over time if you are also taking the right supplements.

Second, a reduction of DHT will allow for a favorable environment so that the scalp gel can help encourage hair growth. This claim is also at least partially true according to general review research (done by both the company and other third party research sites):

Of course there are some people that claim that the reduction of DHT is questionable and not every product works for all people.

Yet Profollica’s main claim is that their two stage product system will lower DHT in your body, thereby removing the inhibiting metabolite and allowing for increased hair growth.

What It Is And How It Works

The company says the system works if you follow their two step program. This system is supposed to work by combining an herbal supplement and a gel that is applied to the scalp.

  • The supplement – it contains nutraceuticals with proteins, amino acids, and enzymes that will daily lower DHT levels naturally.
  • The Activator Gel – The product is made to stop DHT levels and promote help hair growth. The company says on their website:

“NOW FORMULATED WITH TRICHOGEN® – REPORTED TO REDUCE HAIR LOSS IN 90% OF MEN IN A CLINICAL TRIAL!”

The company also claims that the reduction of DHT increases health, yet in males it is the balance between estrogen and androgen and steady levels of DHT that contribute to health and wellness:

“There is quite a bit of confusion about DHT and its effects on hairloss… for those who are genetically disposed to baldness ( if its present in their father or other direct male relatives), any increased levels of DHT could add to the hairloss as these can in these people affect the hair follicles and reduce hair growth..”

The Gel

Profollica’s Activator Gel is massaged into the scalp after washing your hair but still damp. The recent addition of the DHT-blocker & conditioning agent “Trichogen®”, is also present. According to the company:

“Trichogen includes a series of potent extracts that work together to block 5-alpha-reductase from binding with free testosterone to form DHT… All while providing deep, protective conditioning to both your hair and scalp.”

“After 112 days of use, clinical trial results showed:

Additional information on can be found in this PDF which supports the final results of the product Trichogen® which is now formulated in the gel as well:

The Cost:

The specific formulations used in the product (both gel and supplements) are not cheap as they are natural and the company has set up its product and trials to almost require the end user to be on the product for at least 120 days (about 4 cycles of the product).

You can expect to spend about 80 bucks a month, but if you order the product from different locations, like Amazon, distributors often promote cheaper versions of the product. Shop around you can find the product for less than purchasing it direct from the company.

Keep in mind if you want the product you can purchase just part of the system. The results will take longer but over time you can benefit from this more economical way to purchase the product, a little at a time if this helps your bottom line.

Are There Any Side Effects?

The company claims that there are no side effects to the use of their product. Even though the product is almost entirely made from natural ingredients, like vitamins, amino acids, etc. there can still be some mild side effects. Compared to a list of side effects with pharmaceutical treatments, using natural products are almost always better.

Results?

First of all, I consulted multiple forums to get people’s understanding of the product. There are few complaints (yes there are some complaints) because:

  • Some people experienced nothing.
  • Very few said there was a problem with the product.
  • Some people experienced some hair growth but thought the cost was too much.
  • A majority of people are satisfied with the product.

Most people seemed reasonably happy and issues like poor customer service, no ability to get a refund, essentially did not exist, like with many other competitor products.

With the inclusion of the ingredient Trichogen® which is now formulated in the gel as well. The recent inclusion of this formulation is detailed and the results are supporting hair growth:

Conclusion:

Profollica appears to be an all around good product and routine use does appear to be growing hair.

Side effects are minimal and I know many people who support the product on both forums and in daily life.

The only caveat is that it reduces DHT and in men this should be carefully considered; knowing your DHT levels can help determine if a reduction on DHT is worth it to grow hair.

Unlike other products, Profollica is also fully covered by a 60 day refund if you happen to be one of the folks that the system does not seem to help.

As with all products, they may or may not work for everybody. My advice is to give it a try and see what happens as the product appears safe and natural.
